Apparently there are close to 900 pilots at Netjets that are over age 60 (based on information that I am too lazy to even try to verify). I'm a little skeptical about that number and would think it would be closer to 500 but needless to say, we have a lot of old guys here.
The problem is that the vast majority of them are on the "fly til you die" program!
For the record, we are not a geriactics center for deteriorated pilots. I've officially been told we have 330 guys over 62 at NJA. Which puts us in-line with the majors and anywhere else that now allows flying up to 65. I'm not saying there might be a one off issue now and then because of it; but I'd bet it is less than the percent of pilots that are just pure incompetent/lazy and more dangerous anyway.
