WOW! Just yesterday at my home field I was sitting number 3 at the hold short and the tower controller cleared a flight of two for takeoff while another aircraft was on short final (probably less than 2 miles). Luckily - a supervisor came on and canceled the takeoff clearance for the flight of two. We have lots of trainees at my field too. HEADS UP!
