How about a flight of 4 cleared onto hold in front of a DC-9 on short final. Luckily the DC-9 crew saw the 4-ship and executed the go around. Everyone gave the flight lead c**p for not seeing the DC-9 as he was waiting for t/o clearance - the common theme was that he had his mirrors positioned so that he could admire himself rather than see some big airplane trying to land on his flight.
That is why I have THREE mirrors - one for clearing the groove and two others to admire

Well....I'm not one to talk in this case. Back in 87-'88 timeframe I thought I had been cleared to "taxi and hold" onto the runway at Love Field. I was sitting on the runway when I heard a Lear saying that he was going around. I remember specifically thinking "now why would a Lear being going around? I bet that causes problems......" but the rest of my thought was drowned out by the Learjet flying over the top!
