Two observations:
1) Did the pilot send his report about CBs in the area while he was asleep? Its a report that has to be sent manually.
2) When an engine fails, you will NOT be able to sleep through the noise of the warning systems, or the really LOUD ringtone coming from the Flight Attendants call button being pressed repeatedly.
I am just offering another suggestion of what could of happened.
I suppose if they were really hung over from a long night at the strip club it could be difficult to stir at even loud noises.
Maybe they had a mid-air with a UFO?
