Glad to see somebody picked up on this, 5 months after I started the thread

Just went to get my medical renewed. I'm still at 190, however I've lost 2 inches off my waist and my pants now fall off without a belt. My blood pressure was also quite a bit lower. Really need to stop drinking the soda but at 1 a day I'm thinking it's better than dealing with the headache I get from lack of caffeen or lack of high fructose syrup (don't know which it is). I had a lapse in packing food due to living situation changes but now that I'm settled in a new crashpad I can get back on my routine.

I'm actually a little proud of the running. I still don't like doing it, but I am. My knees don't like it at all but I went and spent a little more than I should on a pair of Asics from a store that specializes in running gear. They checked my stride, looked at my old shoes to figure out my step and picked out some options. I liked these the best and haven't been dissapointed. I figure I have about 40 miles on them after a couple months.

Two weeks ago on an overnight in DEN I ran for 25 minutes (couldn't do more than about 5 when I started) which I thought was pretty good for a flat-lander. I really haven't done any recording of distance but a couple nights later the wx was bad so I jumped on the treadmill in the hotel and decided I wouldn't stop until I hit 3 miles. It ended up taking about that much time. I honestly can't remember ever running more than 1 mile in my life. Amazing how I can go for a 25 mile bike ride without thinking twice about it but running kicks my butt so bad.

They have some really good resources. I might implement a one of the training programs in the beginners section.

I hope you guys keep up with this, the encouragement from the last thread was fantastic. Hopefully this one has the same results. Keep posting!
