Can we use our regular benefits on these type of flights or will I end up with a bill at some point? I can't find anything on Deltanet about these types of benefits (ya... big surprise there!).
You have to purchase a ZED fare. If you go on DeltaNet, you can see the OAL guide under "Employee Info", then "Employee Connection", then "Travel" in the left navigation bar. From Travelnet just click on "News and Info" in the top navigation tab and you will be taken to the Pass Travel page. Other airline agreements are listed on the right side under "Other Airline Travel".
Delta no longer has any block space arrangements with foreign air carriers. We are using a "sell and report" system, which means that the seats aren't Delta's until they are actually sold. You'll see that our codeshare flight numbers are specifically excluded on all our ZED agreemenets (8000 series for Air France, for example), so you have to buy the ZED on the operating carrier's flight number.
Hope this helps. The "search" funtion on DeltaNet will take you to a lot of 2007-2008 documents that discuss this.
