Bingo. You are exactly right. For all the talk about filling out FSR, and reporting potential problems, the bottom line is, nothing will EVER get done, unless it impacts the bottom line, and/or costs the company money. That is all they care about. Period. Delay/missed flights definitely get attention. Then, and only then, will they address and fix a problem.
That would be the best thing about some pre-accident video. Document sending some to Flight Ops. And the poor sap that gets laid up in an accident can really clean up for the callous disregard of the danger. It could potentially make for some interesting testimony.
