Barry Seal or Barry Schiff?
Years ago, a TWA pilot told me that his new-hire classmate, Barry Seal, became the youngest captain on the 707 and the 747. He said that the general opinion of Seal was that he would end up either as president of the company or in jail. Seal later got involved with drug smugglers, testified against them as part of a plea bargain, and was fatally shot in revenge.
On the other hand, I heard somewhere that the retired pilot/author Barry Schiff was the youngest 707 captain. Possible name confusion. Any ex-TWA guys have the answer?
