for me, like a lot of pilots, being home with my family will be something i would like to have.. i am willing to sacrifice some pay for time with my family... going to work four or five days a week, but being able to be in the same bed as my wife and kiss my kids goodnight everyday is something i would really like to do... the per diem issue is not so big of a deal compared to the personal costs of not seeing my family.. that being said, if a "turn" schedule doesnt work out for me, i am still prepared to live the airline life and be away 4 days a week, just wish i didnt have to sometimes.. for some of the gray hairs on this site, these are some of the things we young guys think about and its not just about CRJ time at age 21 with only 350TT
