A pay increase mandate by the government will have a negative impact on all pilots except 1st. year FO’s. I guarantee you that any minimum wage will only cover 1st year pay. The airlines will agree to the minimum wage, but good luck on contract negotiations for the rest of the pay scale. That means increase in pay for 1st. year FO’s at the expense of the rest of the pilots. It’s not a good idea. We; pilots and unions have to fight for pay.
