If XJT does go under in 6 years (operating under the assumption that CAL does not renew our contract or that we're unable to land any other flying), most of us at this level would have either moved on, or would just simply make a lateral move. Not the end of the world, UA on the other hand, not only do I think that you don't have much time left, but if it did go under most cannot just go back to the bottom list of regional or a major and start over.
You shouldn't take it so personal, your frustration should be directed at your management and your helpless MEC. Again, reality check, the United we all grew up with is long gone, and all that is left is a dying airline. If some of your guys insist on going to work for an alter-ego such as gojets, that's their choice, but clearly they are only contributing to the raise to the bottom, I suppose letting your management drive UA into the ground wasn't enough.
