Admitting to a knowledge of anything means that "Intent" and "Interpretation" can be used against them in a court of law, an arbitration etc. Sometime it makes a lot of sense to play stupid even if it makes you look like a fool.
Especially in this time where there is a lot going on, it makes even more sense to not tip you had. You may not agree with their stance on an issue, but they are very smart and very calculated, so give them credit for that.
Maybe I wasn't clear. I never said they were not smart. The intent of the post was to show that this administration does not see the implications of having such a liberal scope clause. At the time (leading up to) LOA 19, DC-9's were going away and we give them 255 70 seat jets? Yeah, enough about that.
To see the look on the union folks faces when scope issues were brought up. Trust me and anyone else who was there, they
do not understand this.
BTW, being smart and making good decisions are two completely different things. Look around, very smart people make very bad decisions everyday.
