Load factor? Are you kidding me? It has NOTHING to do with a base being open and or closed. Load factor also probably has a little to due with the DHD memebers we have on every flight. In addition who told you you had the HIGHEST load factor? Because I'd be willing to bet White Plains had the highest load factor of all the places we fly, should we open a base there?
PHL/DCA/LGA which are hubs for USairways make no sense? Let me enlighten you some. DAY has about 16 PSA Flights a DAY leaving, TYS has about 10 flights a day leaving, DCA 16+ flights a day leaving. So which ones should have the MOST flying and which ones should have the fewest? Last time I checked you want a base where if someone calls in sick on a trip, a reserve can thus take that trip over? But again you know it all my man.
Look at Monday the 29th...
DAY 14 Flights
TYS 11 Flights
PHL 16 Flights
DCA 16 Flights
CAK 7 Flights
CLT 144 Flights
So by those numbers alone, it shows the other bases also would make sense. I sure would be *****d if I was a pax on a PSA flight, I got to PHL and then the crew called in sick. "Oh you have to wait until that crew DHD's a pilot up from TYS which will be in three hours to continue your flight." HUB cities make sense for bases. Let alone how many planes are being over nighted in TYS right now, 3? We currently have 41 rooms a night in CAK for crews... And Tempe wonders why we are so bad with cash at PSA.... Keep in mind if DAY didnt have AWAC doing about 5 flights a day we'd be up to nearly 20 departures a day plus mx flights. Does TYS have mx again? Oh no but CAK does.
