Isn't the core of the whole pay-problem de-regulation? Seriously. Several posts on here blame the public for the cheap fares. As the Repubs like to say "less government", right? Well, here's what you have: a system that is designed to undercut itself, to the point of ridiculousness.

I agree, fares to FL shouldn't be $59 or $99. The free market is not without its' flaws, and this one is fatal.

Bring back de-regulation, as it's obvious that airlines cannot or will not contain their lust for screwing their competition. You guys fly 30-150 million dollar machines, and you do it well. You should be compensated accordingly, imo. You used to be, back in the 1970's. They're used to be room for all of the carriers. Sure, flying was expensive, but perhaps that was a good thing. People dressed up, airlines served food and drinks, airports weren't nasty like bus stations. De-regulation completely changed the face of commercial aviation, and 31 years later, it really does not seem like a good thing.
