Default Ticket Prices

I agree, fares to FL shouldn't be $59 or $99. The free market is not without its' flaws, and this one is fatal.

Bring back de-regulation, as it's obvious that airlines cannot or will not contain their lust for screwing their competition. You guys fly 30-150 million dollar machines, and you do it well. You should be compensated accordingly, imo. You used to be, back in the 1970's. They're used to be room for all of the carriers. Sure, flying was expensive, but perhaps that was a good thing. People dressed up, airlines served food and drinks, airports weren't nasty like bus stations. De-regulation completely changed the face of commercial aviation, and 31 years later, it really does not seem like a good thing.
Ticket prices are much less and the industry has grown as a result. Passengers have many choices of flights and destinations.

Aviation is a competitive business just like anything else. If management can get workers and parts for less then it is there job to make their company more competitive by securing lower wages and prices.

If anyone is to blame it is the employees. They are the ones who determine where the bottom is. In other industries if management puts too much downward pressure the workers eventually will leave for another company or industry.

Flying was a better experience in the past if you had the money to pay for the tickets.
