They have to go to ground school, go through sim, go through IOE, just like the rest of us did - correct? I may be wrong on some of these items, I don't know. (I am assuming they would not be current on the CRJ or EMB at time of "hire" at SkyWest)
What I do know, however, is myself and every other SkyWest pilot paid for our "flight training" to become current and proficient on the CRJ or EMB by getting first year pay . . . for the entire first year we worked for SkyWest.
What I also know is every friend of mine who took the job offer from United within the last two years and who is now furloughed was paid FIRST year pay for the whole first year, or fraction thereof that they worked for United.
Just a question. Like I said, I am not trying to upset any mainline pilots with my question.
I don't understand the "since I had it bad, everyone else should have it just as bad" mentality. I think its great that some people may not have to endure first year pay. Everyone should be happy for them.
