Huh? This is odd on many levels.

Airlines don't often voluntarily pay for stuff like this. If there is new stuff to integrate it is usually manufacturers that pay the cost and then pass it along to all customers.

The current seats are strong enough. Take a look at most accident scenes and you will see the seats are usually intact. Human body's usually fail before airliner seats fail. I don't see airbags being very practical; the brace position is a far better idea.
