well yeah, I agree. But I think the posters who are complaining about people releasing snakes into the wild, are referring to the snakes that are not native/natural to the area. The solution would be to not buy these wild animals in the first place, or if you didn't want to keep it anymore, relinquish it to the appropriate authorities instead of releasing it into the neighborhood bushes/lake. But, that would be too responsible.
This applies to cats, too, but they're fuzzy and cute so maybe it doesn't.

The wife and I were coming back from MIA a few months ago and saw lot's of Iguanas around Glades Ave off of the FTP.
At least they are not meat eaters.

That's a big difference IMO. They may be a nuisance, but they're not out there killing the indigenous wildlife. Feral cats can have a huge impact on small species because they love to have sex and are great at killing things.
