I completely understand the bid process, been there and still doing it

. However I was just repeating what I heard at the hub-show from the MEC.
But the more guys we have in training, the less we have flying the line. I had a good conversation with a training manager and why the company was putting guys directly into the right seat of the 27. It was costing the company money to train a guy in the back and then get an award to start training in the right seat within a few months of finishing IOE in the back. I talked to a guy who only spent one week on the line as an S/O before he started class (F/O). I think a lot of the reason that the seat bids have been very limited this year (two bids, compared to last couple years multiple bids) is trying to keep guys out of training.
