I personally think the industry has become a completer cluster and many people/groups deserve to shoulder some of this. For instance, what about the legacy pilots who didn't want the little jets? What about the legacy carriers who started requiring 1000 TPIC at a 121 to become an FO? For the non-military types, that kinda whittled-down the ol' career path options.
