How recent is recent I believe the owner said that its been about a year since his buddy died. And I read on faa.gov that the executor of the estate would have to sign on his behalf, but how long does it take after someone dies for an executor to be appointed.

The owner has been pretty forward to me about everything and we don't expect any surprises with the airplane, he just said that after we do the pre-buy and we make a deal that he'll still have to go back home to do some more paperwork. I'm just a little worried that this is going to turn into some big ordeal and then I'll need to hire a lawyer to straighten it all out. Surely he wouldn't have ever put the plane up to sell in the first place though unless he knew he could sell it legally...right?
