Yes, I looked. It is a Ollie Owner and Clyde Co-Owner scenario. That means that you will need a sign-off from a legal representative of the deceased partner's estate. States can be very different and this is Louisiana, which is sometimes more different than others. That doesn't mean it's a big deal, but you need to have it handled and at least know whether it's a big deal or not before you sign on the dotted line.
Really - get some legal advice. Generally, the form of ownership means that 1/2 of the airplane is an asset of the estate - and could conceivably be reached by creditor claims (if there are any). If you're an AOPA member and not part of the legal plan, go join. Even a free short consultation will probably put you way ahead.
