One of the most amazing thing I have noticed while participating in these forums is that the same complaining occurs consistently, and it is always managements fault. I don't remember hearing, not that it hasn't occurred, anyone with an idea of how to increase ridership on our airlines, make our product distinguishable so that people would be willing to pay more for it, or reduce the costs associated with the operations so that there will be additional money to spread around for crew compensation. In other industries, the people that are most highly compensated bring value to the company, product or service. What are we doing in that capacity?
Flying a pressurized piece of aluminum at 30+ thousand feet from one part of the country to another and sticking it on an enlarged parking lot. Doing so while taking into account aircraft performance, weather, pax comfort, situational awareness, and the readiness to take action when things go wrong.
