Does anyone have expertise in maximizing our time together and minimizing the cost? Here are some of the questions I am trying to answer, and would appreciate any help or ideas.
1. Is ID90 worth the hassle, or should I try to use some of my Delta/NW miles.
USE paid ticket/miles, if you want your kids/spouse to ever talk to you again.
2. Is ID90 a standby/non-rev ticket or is it confirmed travel?
Space A, bottom of the barrel.
2. Is HNL-ANC considered an international DH (i.e. can I use hotel in lieu of international DH??)
Not sure you are using the term correctly, are you saying you have one trip ending in HNL and your NEXT trip D/H's back to HNL? That is the only way to is hotel in lieu of DH, to stay in position rather than take the flights to and from base on separate trips. In this case I am sure they consider HNL/ANC domestic, they are only international for duty period limits, generally speaking.
3. For how many nights will FedEx pay on the end of a trip?
NONE(other than the scheduled layover), unless there is a same duty d/H with a total duty over 10 hours, in which case you can get a company paid hotel (see the SIG notes for the last few months)
4. We are both in the AF Reserves, are there any military deals on lessening the cost of travel to HNL? We looked into the Hale Koa, but apparently they are booked.
5. Will FDX pay for a DH ticket within 72 hours of the end of the trip, or is it 3 calendar days? (i.e. trip ends 1318Z on Sunday, will they pay for a ticket that starts at 2100Z on Wednesday?)
6. Any other help with ideas on travel would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Trap
Hope this helps, answers within the quote.
