Now the pain and possible regret is starting to spread into the 3-4 year seniority ranks in the lower 48.

You probably knew coming on here you were going to get blasted by the "Wanna be UPSers", The "Senior UPSers" and a few of the "JR UPSers" so I give you credit for airing your true feelings.

We all came to UPS from 2005-2007 for 2 reasons and if anyone says different they are full of crap. Those 2 things were PAY and JOB SECURITY. The people at UPS are awesome and some of the places we go are great, but let's be real flying in and out of the sort for 2- 4 legs on the back side of the clock blows. Luckily for me I will never do that because I will always be in Anchorage and that is just a fact if I want a good life at UPS in the next 15-20 years.

Many came here including myself saying I never have to be a captain again I will be set as an FO. Little did we know that 8-10 year upgrade in ANC was going to go up to 12-15 years as an ANC Captain or never depending on age and QOL preference.

So now the jr guys have been threatened to be furloughed so we threw in sick time, 1/2 work, 1/2 pay thinking no furlough. Surprise it bought us 6 months job security. Most likely we will be furloughed once the training from the DC-8 to cover peak is done and or the F-ing MANGLERS get integrated into our seniority list. (A whole other thread)

So if you remove the PAY and JOB SECURITY from the equation I bet a lot of UPSers hired from 2005-2007 have some regret especially if they had other opportunities.

As a fellow IPAer I wake up from this 2 year drunken stooper with a serious hangover, 3 new type ratings, Gold elite Marriott status, and some regrets. Unfortunately timing and luck is everything in this business. Right now there are no really good flying jobs in the market.

I wish you the best of luck!
As a bottom 300 hire here at UPS, I will not vote for integration of the managers. We will be the ones to really take it in the ass, ie. furlough! It will be years before the bottom 300 feel any type of job security here. UPS is not interested in growing the route structure, at least not IPA flying, they will use whatever excuses they can to farm it out. Few retirements for years to come. Most of the managers here I have met I would even want to hang out with if they were IPA, the ones who disgust me the most are those who were IPA then converted to management. Seems like Miller will try to use this to his personal advantage and be a hero by getting these guys into the IPA.
