UPS is not interested in growing the route structure, at least not IPA flying, they will use whatever excuses they can to farm it out. Few retirements for years to come. Most of the managers here I have met I would even want to hang out with if they were IPA, the ones who disgust me the most are those who were IPA then converted to management. Seems like Miller will try to use this to his personal advantage and be a hero by getting these guys into the IPA.
Bottom 400 here and getting the managers (flight qualified supervisors) in is the most important thing we have to do to fix this place. Like it or not, they're all senior to you. Getting them onboard will open up more captain slots for IPA members. Who's to say UPS doesn't decide to hire 100 more of them vice us? You have to look at the bigger picture with the flight qualified supervisors.
