It has been said the dc9-50's are going to get wifi now. Most of them have been painted and some have already received the leather seats so it appears the rumors of them sticking around a while are true. They are also supposedly looking into overhauling the cockpits of them to match the -88s so eveyone can fly them. It would definitly be cheaper than buying new planes. We'll see
DH'ed on a 9-50 the other day that had the new blue leather interior. You would never have known how old that plane was by looking at it. Even with a fatty hanging over my armrest (jet was packed full), the new seats were very comfortable. They will feel even better in the winter.
