Being optimistic, I believe that NK will not grow as they planned years ago. My humble opinion is that this company makes more money by putting people on furlough than opening new services and expanding its fleet. it is just sad that every year when the slow season arrives they have to ask for voluntary leave etc, instead of looking for an alternate service to compensate that reduced capacy.

Spirit wants to grow. The problem is that over capacity can kill any airline. Growth was expected to be aggressive before the oil crisis. With the number of pax decreasing substantially, it is necessary to either cut capacity (as we already did Sept. of last year) or grow at a very slow rate. The Airbus orders are firm... 37 total... with 4 coming next year. Regular growth is expected by 2012 with 6 arriving every subsequent year. Spirit wants to have around 65 to 70 aircraft. Nothing is known beyond that, but we all know that nothing is certain in the airline industry.
