Despite working in business aviation now I consider myself to be quite the interested party as to the goings-on in the 121 world. I have lots of friends at RAH, and former colleagues from ARW (where I was an ALPA committee chair) who were some of the first furloughs from MEH.
I'm tired of seeing airline pilots **** away opportunities to achieve gains despite adversity because of little more than hubris and a sense of entitlement;
the entire piloting profession has suffered because of it. I'm tired of seeing good jobs sold in exchange for _________, resulting in lower-paying jobs. Most importantly, I'm baffled as to why some airline pilots can objectively see why what is happening is happening, yet can't seem to trouble themselves to 1. educate others or 2. work proactively to secure a better fate...if only out of a sense of self-preservation for themselves and their colleagues.
So that's why I care; I'd probably be a little bit better off if I didn't...but apathy is the whole reason the profession has gotten itself into this mess in the first place now isn't it?
