Not really; we are the only airline out there which hires people off the street straight into the left seat to make them "line qualified supervisors" or managers = manglers... They are not part of the union and have no seniority but that's what the union wants to change...
We also do have some manglers who used to be part of IPA and crossed over into the management - they are no longer part of IPA...
At other airlines you work your way up into those kind of positions... but otherwise we are very big on "promotion form within" - except on the airline side...
Of course, around Christmas all of us always get an invitation to "advance ourselves" into the management ranks...
We also won't hire anyone who has a realitve working here already... A little strange for a company founded by two brothers wouldn't you say?
