with out that in place they essentially are just enabling the airlines to keep pay low and skimp on safety.

I emailed the FAA and told them that what the airlines were doing was equlivalent to putting a 16 year old with a fresh license behind the wheel of a schoolbus full of kids. Its only a matter of time before something bad happens.

Putting that restriction on the airlines is a step into the right direction for safety and pay. Imagine that, making the airlines hire pilots with a requirement to meet *gasp* AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT STANDARDS!!
