If I am not mistaken, isn't an ATP ride a left seat ride? If an FO has the requirements for an ATP, will this also have to be a type ride in the airplane to get the ATP? Or, will it just be a checkride in the left seat to ATP standards. It is a little different flying from the other side.
I got mine when I upgraded to CA along with a type.
An ATP checkride is not seat specific and the airline could make the applicant pay for the DE. I doubt the airlines will spring for the type ride as they will see no benefit to them.....
