Kidding, kidding.

This TA may be far below what the Pinnacle pilots were expecting. That is ok. Remember, the MEC may have deliberately put junk up for a vote. They are obligated to bargain in good faith, and the NMB seemed to think that it was possible to reach a TA. Your MEC may be hoping you vote this TA down. That way, in the eyes of the NMB, the Union has negotiated in good faith and sent a TA for vote. IF the pilot group flatly refuses to accept the terms of the TA, then it sends an extremely strong signal to the NMB that the pilots will not agree to company demands, and that the MEC has been acting as true representatives of the pilots, not as a group of combative, unrealistic union thugs. THIS will show the NMB that indeed no agreement can be reached without serious concessions from the company, and that SELF HELP may be an inescapable outcome. It is hard to get to SELF HELP without the MEC demonstrating that they are willing to compromise. This TA may be that good faith gesture the MEc needs to see.

If it is a turd, vote it down. SELF HELP is possible.

If it is truly a deserved contract, then by all means go for it.
It may also reset the clock as the NMB needs to see that progress is still being made. If a TA goes through, it shows that both sides made progress. That doesn't help the self help option. If the company negotiators said this is our best and final offer and that's rejected, then it shows there's little hope for future progress and the self help option becomes closer to reality.
