Sailing:
It depends on who you talk to.
Some tell me nearly the exact same you posted. If you ask in former NWA bases you are told that the Company came to ALPA with a request to put Compass on the list to make the flow actually function in a more orderly fashion. I am told ALPA responded to the Company proposal with a demand for pay negotiations. Then the Company decided not to activate the flow down anyway, removing the "reason" to integrate Compass, case closed.
I did notice Compass got a new pilot coordinator.
Since officially the represented members of this organization are told nothing about the representations being made on the members' behalf, we know nothing about what happens behind closed doors until after the fact.
I'm not pleased that negotiations are routinely entered into without polling, or communications.
Much of the pilots' anger (justified or not) about Moak's grievance settlement was that in effect, it was scope negotiations.
I've spent hours with our Reps and Chairman on this topic. They have my letters too. At this point it seems we have politely and professionally agreed to disagree on scope restoration.
We have elections this fall. I think some good guys have an excellent chance of winning. Based on their prior work in C44 to get some good resolutions passed, I'm hopeful they'll provide a little pressure on the rudder to turn this great ship ALPA around on outsourcing our work.
