Don't worry: that was a rethorical. I've heard the 9 's are fine inside. I know the same cannot be said for JFK terminals 2 & 3. And as for the JFK operation... it's a "Zen" thing: they treat every day like their first day, and their last day.
LOL! Yeah, they aren't too bad. The DC9-50's are getting all leather so I guess they'll be around for a little while longer.

Yeah, I came off like a jerk because I was frustrated but it really is a CF. I just don't like hardstands period. I don't care if it's for a 767 or a CRJ-200. I think it's a embarassment to us and I think it's a inconvience for the pax. JMHO. Now I think they are acceptable in warm wx places, but not JFK.

Well, we can hope that if they truly want to be the Premier NY Airline, they will completely eliminate hardstands all together.

I came into JFK one time from EDI in a 757 and parked on the remote pad. Waited quite awhile for the people movers to come out and when they did I was surprised that they actually made it to the deplaning door because of how we were parked relative to other aircraft.
WOW! I can't believe they do it to 757s and 767s as well! Thats a lot of busses!

Until you seek penance you will continue to pass through and always be at a hard stand. Or be in luck that your plane is at the gate on time, they board on time, but they don't load bags or fuel until 45 minutes past departure time. I got so fed up with it I had to bid to ATL. JFK is worse than any third world airport I've ever been to and the rhetoric about how we need to be the flagship product in NYC is embarrassing when you have any gate assignment that's prefaced by a Terminal 2 or 3.
I agree with you, and that's my main beef with the JFK op. I hope we can steer away from the hardstand thing, and get some much nicer terminals.
