Of course you'd like some additional protection. You're way out of seniority in your current position (hundreds of domestic 767 and 73N Captains senior to you), so any downward movement risks you not getting back for several years. It's not unlike what happened when MCO closed, and the Express Captains had to wait several years til their seniority allowed them to hold mainline.

If I were in your shoes, I'd want the additional protections too. It's the only way you'll hold on to the job up there.
