Clear as mud?
The problem is in the variables... You may be able to figure YOURS out, but for 1300 it becomes an impossible task. The areas of concern are:
1. Who went to the -900 and when.
2. Who upgraded and when.
3. Who upgraded super quick and got displaced.
4. Who was an FO the entire time.
5. Who has been a CA but bid CDO's for time at home with the wife or little ones.
6. Who was bought out at 100 hours a month.
7. Is it justified with Prefbid that a guy topped out gets 75 hours, where a guy a few years back gets 90 credit and makes more $$ than the senior guy with worse QOL.
What do you reward? Previous earnings? Lost earnings? Earnings past up?
Do you make the bonus a sign of unity (equal share)? "Pain and suffering" payment based on days under the amendable period?
There are lots of details and information that I will not release until after the MEC meetings next week and a vote on the TA. If the TA gets voted through with a "yes" you can expect some long and detailed posts very quickly. My mind is made up after seeing things in writing.
Scott is doing a great job and I can only imagine when the man sleeps. Text messages at 11pm asking "can you take a call" and early morning emails that make complete sense when I am still trying to make my TV turn on make me think SE is sponsored by starbucks.
Selcall is only getting bits and pieces- there is NO reason for us to vote a contract through to live with for 5 years and then enter an amendable period with only one year's worth of a COLA. There are alot of politics that involve the situation we are in, I would expect to see some interesting things over the next couple weeks.
