Not a SWA guy, but, I too hope they don't have to go through what most have experienced for the past 10 years.
But, the SWA mgt mindset is different than the industry std mgt mindset. Every SWA flight I've been on is staffed by SWA folks and they are all in a good mood. Still. Economy in the dumper and everybody's loving life.
Sure can't say the same for the folks with AA, Delta (especially TheNewDelta), and CAL. (Haven't flown UAL recently but I hear nothing but horror stories from the Bro's working there)
SWA doesn't have RJs flying long haul routes just to reduce their costs.
SWA Mgt certainly isn't infallible, but, I'd rather bet on them than any other airline Mgt out there.
I look at the balance sheet and SWA is the only pax carrier in the black, huge.
