That may not be the only reason. When I PCS'd from NY to Louisiana, I was looking forward to much lower auto rates now that I'd be out of the NY rat race. Turns out my rates went up! I couldn't freaking believe it. Turns out the ridiculously lax Louisiana laws on uninsured motorists led to the 3rd highest rate of uninsured claims in the nation for Louisiana drivers. Oh well. Wasn't USAA's faults, everyone else at KBAD that I talked to had significantly higher rates after coming to LA, no matter what insurance company they were with.
