This post is extremely sad. You guys are supposedly professional airline pilots yet you are working second jobs to pay the bills? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the word "professional"? They should call you guys amateur pilots since you cannot support yourselves flying. It is really sad that companies pay so little to fly paying passengers, but what is more sad is how many pilots will do it with a smile on their face.
Sorry we dont make the big dollars like you. Some of us have families, school loans to pay off or whatever it may be. Whats not professional about working a second job? You might want to look up the definition in the dictionary. As for doing it with a smile on my face, thats what makes me a professional. I dont take out my frustration and disgust over the state of this industry on my passengers or the people I fly with. Thats a true professional, doing your job and not crying about pay and work rules drawing your attention away from your duties at hand, theres a time and place for everything.
