After hearing what I heard today, this issue has elevated north/south relations to "crisis". If left to stand as is, there will be a rift that will take years, if not decades to heal.

I am sorry, but the DAL-N guys tend to be just a little bit melodramatic. Every issue that comes up is a "crisis". Every dispute is a life or death decision. It's like dealing with teen age girls.
We are talking about which DAL-N guys get to bid which DAL-N seats. You make it sound like some huge crisis when in fact it is mostly an old Red Book-Green Book issue.
