Is it SOP for you guys to bring 'em out of feather during the push? I saw someone do that on a dry ramp in BZN awhile ago, and it kind of made me wonder. If it is SOP, is there guidance regarding this practice during slippery conditions? I think I would be unwilling to do that if the ramp was at all slippery. Back at Lakes, we had a guy try that with the Beech on an icy ramp...he jacknifed with the tug and about killed the tug driver. Just curious...
It is allowed by the SOPs but it is not mandatory. More PIC discretion, I would assume due to the reasons above. I have not seen any guidance about it but, that may have been provided by one of the memos issued by our last chief pilot.
