In unity this group denied the raises for FO's a couple years ago, that alone needs to take the w-2 method off the table. The formula will not be "fair" to everyone, and just like the nwa/dl merger of lists both sides were upset, yet the process was done via a formula that was a non-bias setup. The only thing that every pilot has to differentiate each other is time here under the amendable time. To add insult to injury a -900 2n year reservist would make more on the w-2 method than a 3-4yr -200 lineholder. There is no "right" way or even a precedent that we can apply, we all need to form a way that is mutually benefitial and rewards the bonus money oN a justified and easy to understand metric.
What about those FO's, who are now captains that suffered on FO pay long before you got here? Should they get more money due to the 'time value of money'?
I'm not saying the W2 method is a good method.
I love how money causes so much drama. Money runs the world.
