At just before midnight this evening, the Company walked out of negotiations, having refused to budge on its proposal. As a result, the cooling-off deadline expired at 12:01 a.m. this morning. This means that both parties are now free to engage in self help, such that the Union can engage in strike activity at any time it chooses.
