Almost 95% of the time they are ACARS'd to us before the gate agent reaches the cockpit with the final paperwork. The other 5% of the time usually is rectified when the tug driver gets on the headset and you tell him you are still waiting for the numbers. Once he coordinates that, most often last minute cargo, you get the numbers within another minute or so.

I know NWA's system was much slower. In a past life when dealing with it, it was not a rare occurrence to pull over to the run up pad and wait for them.
