The difference between these carriers and DCI vs Mainline is that the above carriers all operate the same class/type aircraft and engage in the same type of flying. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, they were also owned by the same holding company in each example.
Using this argument to force the merger between separately owned companies and/or companies doing dissimilar flying won't work.
