With regards to aviation, most people in the world, and even the US, do not have enough income to enjoy aviation.
Even the majority of people worldwide do not have enough income to even enjoy a simulation of flying, either through their computer or through a TV videogame. I would guess that most Americans could afford some kind of simulated flying. We are quite lucky, here in the US.

If you are flying for fun and accepting sub par pay, you should not be doing it.
If you are flying for $$ and insisting on receiving $$, you
can go take up many fun hobbies, as it should be.
Yes, we are lucky for many reasons in the US but don't kid yourself, pilot pay at the US regionals is nothing to shout about among pilots overseas.
I wish you luck in your career. Try convincing yourself that you are "entitled" rather than "lucky". There will always be a CEO who'll be happy to praise you rather than pay you!
