It seems to me that JetBlue is where it is at! ... For JetBlue pilots, any of you guys unhappy? You all seem overall satisfied.
JetBlue seems to be healthy. Any rumor of hiring within the next 6 months, or indications of short staffed?
What was JetBlue's flight time hiring minimums when they were hiring?
I've been here at Jb for 18mo. Sucking bottom. I have to say comming from three regional carriers prior, my quality of life is better in the bottom 1% here than it ever has been anywhere.
I spent a year in BOS and the RSV was not that bad. I usually got about 3-6 days of LCR (14callout) and sat at home. The rest of SCR was spent crashpading it. I averaged about 35hrs mo. The life in F,nJFK isn't as good. They work more.
I changed bases in May. Drive to work. Spend all LCR and SCR days at home and still work about 20-35 hrs a mo. I don't miss the commute as I did it for 9 years from NYC to LAX and MDW to IAH.
The $$ is comming, and so is the retro check. I would say that the work rules are going to get better too.
The union failed for a multitude of reasons but I will contribute it to poor coordination within the organizing party.
My take is we've got some problems... who doesn't? We have some poopypants guys here and the 10%ers will never be happy. As far as a workplace goes, this one is great. Again it can always be better. Your QOL is what you make of it and are able to work around. My wife works and takes some of the burden off my back.
I'd come to work here again given the chance. Hind sight being 20/20 had I gone to either of the other two carriers I was hired at in the same time frame, I would be a govt. employee sucking off the taxpayers teet. Not where I want to be.
