Given the pre NTSB ruling chatter after the Colgan accident, some of our elected officials are getting spooled up to insure that changes are brought to our industry in the interest of "safety" and the flying public.
Mandated non-commuting would affect far more lives than just the pilots who choose to commute. Current scope violations at MedEx and UAL are just a petri dish test of wholesale outsourcing to come. Several days ago suggestions were made that experienced pilots would "mentor" regional airline pilots.
Can our collective bargaining agents do more than is currently being done to aid congress in it's understanding of these issues and thereby help minimize excessive legislation? Or do we need a national day of action on critical issues, for instance Crewpass?
