Spirit MEC Weekly Update: September 7, 2009

1. Negotiations Update #17—Negotiations wrapped up on Thursday, September 3, after four days of talks. We were able to reach Tentative Agreements on Section 6: Moving Expenses and Section 8: Deadheading. ALPA submitted proposals to Spirit’s negotiating team concerning Section 5: Expenses; Section 9: Training Pilots; and Section 11: Training. In addition to these sections, we still have Section 13: Leave of Absence; Section 23: Furlough; and Section 24: Filling of Positions under discussion. Mediated negotiations are set to resume September 28–30 at ALPA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
